THURSDAY, JUNE 26 DAILY JOURNAL

BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

THE HOW TOO...

What in your life makes you want to do things you know are not honoring to God?

How would you live differently if you knew someone you respect (Shaun, your small group leader, your Mom or Dad) was watching you all the time?

How would you live differently if you knew someone younger than you was watching what you do to make their decisions in life?

II Cor. 5:20-21 “We’re Christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them. We’re speaking for Christ himself now: Become friends with God; he’s already a friend with you. How? you say. In Christ. God put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God (righteous).”

How do these verses influence the way you want to live your life?

So the question for the day is, “What do you want to keep the same and what needs to change?” Answer this question in the comment section!

I feel I am on the right path as a Christian but I think the more you go on your path the more narrow it becomes. The more you try to make the right decisions the more you have to battle to do it. I think that is why it is so important to be involved in a life group or to have strong Christian friends so you don't have to go into battle alone.
I think you have to pray about your weaknesses and ask God to turn them into strengths. God wants you to pray about all things great and small.

Same: involvement in church, serving in nursery, using my talent in youth drama

Different: Spend more time with Him. When I think about this topic, I remember a Bible study I was in and we created God's memo. A comment He made was, "If you REALLY love me, you will spend time with me. It's definetely true for me that I get all tied up with my earthly friends and put my SAVIOR on the back burner! Its great to have strong Christian friends, but its even more greater to make God your best friend. I am now starting to realize that! :)

Excellent question. Well I think a big thing that needs to change in my life is that I don’t spend enough time in the word, or praying for that matter. I keep trying to get a bit of a routine going, but every time I start one, something crops up and I use it as an excuse to end the whole thing. Unless I’m in a routine I hardly ever pray, (seriously I mean. I bless my meal and all, but that’s not really talking to God) and I don’t open the bible unless I’m in church. If I’m going to grow in my walk with God, I think that needs to change.

i think being more involved in my bible and being more involved with certain areas at church is what i could do different.
