SATURDAY, JUNE 14 DAILY JOURNAL

BELT OF TRUTH

LITTLE WHITE LIE

Think about a time in your life when you told a really big lie – what did you lie about and how did you feel before and after you lied?

How do you feel when someone lies to you? What happens in your relationship when they lie?

(A little background)
One day Jesus was talking to people who claimed to follow God and He told them a little background about Satan:

John 8:44b “He (The Devil) was a murderer from the beginning and has always hated the truth. There is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.”

Why would Satan want to lie to you?

What are lies Satan is telling to you?

What truth do you need to fight the lies?

So here's the question for the day, "How can you help other people find God’s truth for their lives?" Answer this question in the comments section.

I thought this question was a pretty good one for adults as well as for our teens.
Whenever I stay observant and watch what is going around me before getting involved in all the worldly situations out there, I
take it right to God. I pray that He guides me, gives me wisdom and helps me get through the situation. Once I put on God's armor I notice that I make better choices.
I read Proverbs 3:1-7 tons of times before making decisions. It's like God is with me. "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight."
Look up Ephesians 5:1-21
I find that is an excellent scripture to take others who are in need of finding God's truth for their lives.
The more I read in the Word, The stronger my armor.

I am reminded how many Overflo students take the opportunity to share God's truth by inviting their friends to Overflo. Ya know, even with this small step, you are applying His truth because you are showing your friends what drives you. What a great choice in life...showing your friends the truth!

God was amazing with how He made us because he made us all very differently so that we can be creative about spreading His word. For example, I have a Casting Crowns t-shirt that I wore to Blockbuster and the cashier liked my shirt. That allowed me to mention that I go to Parkview and I was able to tell him about it. He thought the church was a little big for him and his new wife so I don't think they ever tried it but at least he thought about what type of church is for him. Maybe he is going to another church in the area or maybe another family member of Parkview will go to Blockbuster and his seed will continue to get watered.

As a middle school or high school student, I don't think y'all realize the positive impact you can have on your friends. The power a teen-ager can have is wild. I think it is important for you to pray to God and ask Him how He wants you to use your talents, abilities, or creative ways to invite your friends to Overflo. I think you will be amazed when God answers that prayer how He will make it a comfortable experience for you.

i think you can share God's truth with people by showing them His light through you and your actions, or actually talking to someone and giving them bible verses or just inviting them to church.
